An American author born in 1948, who writes mainly Young Adult and Children's Literature. His works often deal with Chinese folklore, mythology or Chinese-Americans.
Lawrence Yep's works include:
- Golden Mountain Chronicles - A series of books spanning several generations. The earliest take place in China, while the ones that follow are about early Chinese-immigrant railroad workers, and then eventually people in modern times. Chronologically they are:
- Dragon Series - A quartet about a dragon named Shimmer trying to restore the home of her people. Along the way she meets a boy named Thorn, a girl named Indigo, the magical trickster, Monkey, and Civet, the witch who destroyed her home.
- Monster Makers INC - A novel about the son of a geneticist who owns miniature monsters and how he defeats an alien invasion.
