Born in Manchuria, Kei Tomiyama dropped out of university to become a voice actor. He was a veritable Man of a Thousand Voices, from Butt Monkeys, Idiot Heroes, even Retired Badasses.

Died of cancer in 1995 and was awarded posthumously at the first Seiyu Awards in 2007.
