Giant Foot of Stomping: Difference between revisions

 

When the giant foot use is just plain silly or a gag for when a scene has gone on too long, it's a case of [[Drop the Cow]].

* [[Our Dragons Are Different|Voltaire]] does this in ''[[Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS]]''. Three Gadget Drones are shown floating around and shooting at random stuff, then squish!

* ''[[Paranoia Agent]]'' has this in episode 5.

* Luffy of ''[[One Piece]]'' can do this via his Gear Third ability, though he's only used it in an attempt to stomp someone once, in his fight against Rob Lucci.

* Occurs a few instances in ''[[Cardcaptor Sakura]]'', when the titular character daydreams of crushing her brother in revenge for calling her a monster.

* Not sure if this counts, but if you look closely at the beginning of Asuka's fight in ''[[End of Evangelion]]'', an unfortunate [[Mooks|JSSFD soldier]] gets crushed under the foot of a descending Mass Produced EVA, and the shot is framed in this way.

* Happens to a shrunken Kyle in the movie ''[[The Luck of the Irish]]'', [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGLJrTf1u5o by the foot of one of the teachers]. She is completely unaware of it, however; and the sequence itself was more of a [[Dream Sequence]].

* ''[[Ghostbusters]]'' and ''Ghostbusters II'', with Stay-Puft and the Statue of Liberty, respectively.

* Narrowly averted in [[Stephen King]]'s ''[[The Mist]]'', when a '''gargantuan''' creature crosses the road and nearly steps on the fleeing protagonist's SUV.

 

* The opening titles of ''[[Monty Python's Flying Circus]]'', of course. The foot was taken from a Cupid in a painting by Bronzino. * Every third ''[[Power Rangers]]'' [[Monster of the Week]] tries this after [[Make My Monster Grow]] ensues. The standard procedure is for the Rangers to dodge and pray nobody notices that it's just a normal-sized foot ''really'' [[Forced Perspective|close to the camera]], and then call the [[Humongous Mecha]].

* ''[[The Goodies]]''. A [[Dead Line News|newsreader]] is squashed by Kitten Kong's huge paw.

** Also the spell "Gork's Warpath", which does the same thing several times. [[Fan Nickname|Affectionately referred to]] by players as "Tapdance of Gork"

*** And all monsters have Stomp or Thunderstomp (which of the two that is given depends on the monsters size).

* [[Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog|Doctor Horrible]] uses his own foot on Captain Hammer in an [[Imagine Spot]].
