Dungeon Damage is a now-defunct web comic that takes the fantasy elements of Dungeons and Dragons, and places them in an Alternate History Medieval Europe. Lots of historical and biological work shown, and the art slowly gets better. Sadly, it has been on indefinite hiatus since 2006, but it's good for an Archive Binge.
Fortunately its site still exists and can be read here.
