Cursed Memories

• The Disgaea 2 good/canon ending. "Watch and cry, spoiler warning though" Made all the more powerful by the ending theme.
  • There was really one, small moment in Disgaea 2 that did it: when fake Overlord Zenon attacks your whole party near the end, Adell stands in front of Rozalin and Yukimaru stands in front of Taro—but most adorably of all, Etna protects Hanako. After the whole game showing Hanako being an Etna fangirl and Etna practically brushing her off, it was hard not to dissolve into happy tears.
• The final scene between Rozalin and Zenon in the manga. And yes, I mean the fake Zenon.

Rozalin: Father...remember when you sent me that big teddy bear? Zenon: ...yeah. Rozalin: I hugged that bear and I slept with it everyday until the day I was summoned by Adell... Zenon: I see... Rozalin: When I was 6... you made me a birthday cake...but it was too sweet. I hated sweet things ever since. Zenon: I always thought... children loved sweets... Rozalin: When I was 7, you gave me a whole field of white roses just for me. Zenon: That time I was hiding to make sure...you wouldn't find me... Rozalin: Father...!

• • Also in the manga is Adell's Mom handing over the masks of the Masked Man and Masked Woman, who sacrificed their lives so Adell can confront Zenon, and Adell's realization that they were his parents. There is no dialogue in this scene but Adell and his adoptive mother's smile speak volumes.
• When Adell reveals to Rozalin that he's Happily Adopted, she's shocked that he's working so hard to save people he isn't even related to. Adell simply explains that blood has nothing to do with family.
• In Axel Mode, we have Axel's decision to save his brother on live television despite being fully aware it will destroy his reputation as the Dark Hero.
  • Doubly so, as like Adell to Taro and Hanako, Axel isn't related to his brother by blood. Moreso because he never blames Axial for this.
• The climax of Axel Mode, starting with the lead-up to the final battle: When he sees Axial being held hostage, Axel freezes up, torn between the instinct to save his brother again and the fear of shattering Axial's image of him as the ideal Dark Hero. He doesn't care about his reputation, just how Axial sees him. Axial snaps him out of it by revealing just how much he cares.
  • After the fight, Axel asks Axial to take care of their family while he's away with the travel show. Their mother shows up and reveals she already knew everything, and gives him her blessing.
• Rozalin deciding NOT to kill Adell. "Tink, please put up with my madness for just a little longer."

Absence of Justice

• Just about any scene between Almaz and Sapphire in Disgaea 3.
  • Really shown during the Vita version's Side-Story "Battle for the Test", where Sapphire wants to reclaim her test before the results are posted. The reason why? She doodled herself and Almaz beneath a Heart on her test sheet, and didn't want anyone else to see it.
• Any scene concerning Mao and Raspberyl's rivalry, especially in Raspberyl Mode where it really takes center stage.
• The scene where Almaz gets his hero title back. It's touching to finally hear how deeply grateful Mao actually is on the inside for everything he'd done for him.
• The ending of the Vita release Side-Story "Legend of the Super Delinquent". Asuka and Kyoko have been noticing Beryl acting strange, so they follow her to figure out why. She stayed up for 10 straight days hand-crafting dolls of Asuka and Kyoko as a present to celebrate their group having been formed 100 years ago. Also detailed is how they met; Beryl donated bone marrow to treat Asuka's Demon-cell Leukemia, and rescued Kyoko from several demons holding her for ransom.
• The Death Institute, Majin Academy ending. Even though Rutile was basically used by Stella to steal the Dean's certificate to Evil Academy, and even bascially treated like shit, she's still willing to reconcile with Stella and try to help her school.

A Promise Unforgotten

• The normal ending when Valvatorez tells Nemo, who believed he was beyond forgiveness, to become a Prinny and earn his forgiveness rather than giving up his soul. Because he is the Prinny Instructor, Valvatorez says he will personally ensure that he will work to pay off his sins. Finally, there's Valvatorez's last line which ends up being used in a more uplifting and heartwarming way compared to it's usual application:

Valvatorez: Judge Nemo, I'll see you in Hades.

• • Also from the ending, everyone encouraging Emizel to reap his first soul.

Emizel: In the name of Death Emizel, I hereby sunder thy soul from this life.

• Fuka realizing that despite feeling that she had been neglected, her dad truly loved her. That he didn't become a mad scientist out of remorse for his late wife but to fulfill the wishes of her daughter and created Desco and Des X because Fuka really wanted a sister. ...then she hits him for making her really strange sisters.
  • This is even lampshaded by the other characters as being heartwarming... in their own way, of course. In fact, the only character who doesn't find this scene in some way pleasant is Nemo, who has just begun to flip his shit as a result. Even Des X is done with killing Fuka.
