Mexican director who frequently directs mainstream fare in an artsy style, sometimes with an eye towards political commentary and/or exploring teen Angst. His most notable films include A Little Princess, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Children of Men. Oh, and He Also Did "I Am Autism", the memetically narmy, slightly offensive Autism Speaks advertisement.
His version of Azkaban is controversial among Potter fans due to it being a Compressed Adaptation which leaves out much of the Backstory. Author J. K. Rowling, however, liked his direction and has defended the cuts he made.
